Local Conservative Councillors have welcomed fresh investment in Dukes Meadows to regenerate the area.
A significant amount of money has been earmarked from the Community Infrastructure Levy, a charge set by local authorities on new development in the borough to support improving local amenities, to improve the Dukes Meadows area, including money for much needed resurfacing works on Riverside Drive and funding to support the regeneration of Promenade Approach.
Councillor Jack Emsley, also a trustee for the Dukes Meadows Trust, said: “this investment is really welcome for our local area, and will help to continue the great work being done by community groups to improve Dukes Meadows. I’m so excited to continue working with the local community to give Dukes Meadows the investment and regeneration that it needs and deserves."
