Vickram Grewal is a long-standing public servant in the London Borough of Hounslow. He has served as a councillor since 2018, representing two wards during his tenure: Hounslow Heath and, more recently, Cranford. Having lived in the borough his entire life, Vickram brings deep local insight and a strong personal commitment to the communities he serves.
Beyond politics, Vickram has built a substantial career in the private sector. He has held senior roles in financial services, including positions at some of the world’s largest institutions. His experience in areas such as institutional finance and sales has equipped him with strong analytical, strategic, and relationship-management skills that complement his work in public service.
Across both his political and professional roles, Vickram Grewal is recognised for his commitment to community service and his ability to bridge corporate and civic responsibilities for the benefit of residents in Hounslow.
Vickram has recently crossed the floor to the Conservatives after seven and a half years in the Labour Party, driven by longstanding concerns over financial mismanagement, the refusal to allow proper scrutiny, and a culture that consistently put party needs ahead of residents. With the council on “financial red alert” and repeatedly turning to higher taxes on families and local businesses rather than managing public money prudently, he concluded that the administration had abandoned the principles of accountability and responsible governance. As he said in a local paper, “I did not leave Labour to make a statement. I left to make a difference — for Hounslow, for my family, and for every resident who deserves competence, honesty and a council that treats their money with respect. Only the Conservatives can deliver that future.”
He has now been selected to run in 2026 to represent Chiswick Gunnersbury ward and is looking to bring his experience from the West of the Borough to leafy Chiswick.
If elected as a councillor for Chiswick Gunnersbury, Vickram aims to continue the excellent work of his running mates, Ron Mushiso and Jo Biddolph. He is committed to being a strong and responsive voice for residents in the council, ensuring their concerns and priorities are heard at every level. Vickram will focus on supporting local businesses, strengthening community ties, and helping families across the ward access the services and assistance they need. His goal is to champion a thriving, safe, and connected Chiswick Gunnersbury for all who live and work there.
